Program Features
At the Ark of Learning UPK program, we take special care to create a learning environment that facilitates age-appropriate learning through stimulating learning through safe, fun-filled activities that encourage growth and social engagement. Our passion for educating our students transcends every aspect of our program. The lessons are designed to encourage students to participate in activities that will develop their social, emotional, and cognitive abilities in a nurturing environment.

Our center thrives because of our well-trained, nurturing teachers. Mandated online and in person training by NYS Office of Children and Family Services provide our teachers with resources and forums to improve classroom techniques, remain updated on the latest NYS standards, and research that supports the learning needs of children in our classroom. Further training courses include First Aid and CPR and MAT certifications.

Partnerships with our families also contribute to our successful programming. Our educators share resources that extend learning to home and support family engagement through creative and fun activities.

Program Features

The Ivy League Preschool offers a UPK program run by a NYS licensed teacher. We offer an exciting curriculum that is enhanced by a multisensory/cross curriculum approach to learning.

In addition to our Fundations training, our science program is filled with tons of hands-on activities and real life science experiences.
Since we believe in the importance of reading books, we read them aloud to the children throughout the day, not just at circle time. Books are also available for independent perusal.

We use the same math manipulatives that the students use in elementary school for fun and learning. Following the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and New York State Learning Standards, we do not have televisions or screens in the school. We go outdoors twice a day in our playground or out indoor play areas for when the weather is bad. Your child does not have to be completely potty trained.
