CCMS Mission Statement
CCMS presented its new mission statement at the Cornwall Board of Education meeting on March 23rd. Our goal was to develop a statement that reflected our philosophy and stresses the importance of meeting the academic and social/emotional needs of middle school students. After several drafts, we came up with not only a mission statement, but belief statements that support our mission and speak to the development of the whole child. Congratulations to the cast and crew of the CCMS Drama Club. Their performance of Pirates of Penzance was excellent. Over 100 students in grades 5 through 8 participated in this production. We would also like to thank the Director, Mrs. Moulton, and the Assistant Directors, Mr. Baxter and Mrs. Ransbottom for all of their hard work.
On March 19th, our 8th graders participated in workshops as part of our Celebration of Capabilities Day at CCMS. Faculty, staff, students and guest presenters were here to speak and conduct hands-on activities with our 8th grade students in order to teach them about different types of disabilities. The focus of the day was not about what people can't do, but what they can. Our theme was one of Rachel's Challenges- Look for the Best in Others.
